Hello there blogger's, So today we are going to be blogging about my holiday's!! First of all, i was sleeping, then i heard someone crying out loud, So i wanted to check. A s my head went up, It was my mum crying. I told my dad what was wrong?? and he said. . . "You're Nana died", then i started crying aswell. Also my dad was comforting my mum. 

After my mum calmed down, She said "hurry let's go to you're Anti's house", i said, why? and i noticed that my cousins and everyone else was there to say goodbye to my nana.  So then me and my sister and brother got ready. Then off we go. When we got there they were all crying. But my nana was in Samoa so we had to go on zoom to see her. 

After All that crying, we kept learning how to sing my nana's song. for the ones that want to know what the name of her song is, it is "home on the range". After that day we kept singing her song so we can show her we love her!! There are other thing's i have done in the holiday's like, Chores, playing volley with family, singing song's, and last of all sleeping my favorite!!!!

My fav Peace of work was the Reading comprehension questions tasks. because it was really easy to do and very fun aswell! Koleka's olympic DLO

So today i am in lock down and i am going to be sharing a DLO of mine!

Three  weeks ago me and my reading class started a DLO, it was about Olympics and teaching the readers all about Olympics too! 

I started off with a intro for my writing so you know what I am writing about, and that is Ancient Olympics I am talking about! Ok lets go to the main part, and my second slide was about the youngest athlete in the New Zealand team her name is Erika fair weather  , and also the oldest athlete that is going for the New Zealand team.

The 3rd slide is all about medals. and the first medal that NZ got from the Tokyo Olympics was from Darcy Handfield, Darcy had a bronze medal from the Tokyo Olympics, also the first gold medal came from Morgan, and that was back in the 19's. This is one of my favorite slides so far but not my only favorite slides, so this slide is about the most famous  Olympic athletes  in the world, and what i found was that peter Snell was one of the most famous athletes in the would because he won three gold medals in the glamour race distance track-run!?

Ok now this slide is all about which country in the best at doing the Olympics! And you all know that the best country at doing the Olympics is ( drum role ) . . .  United sates! you wanna know why? it's because they have won 113 medals put together! there is also an athlete that has won 28 medals, so 23 gold,2 bronze, and three silver medals! so cool!

And now the last slide of all! This cool slide of mine is about, when the first Olympics started at? I will tell u that, so the first Olympics Started in 1896, so how many years has it been since 1896 to 2021? there has been 115 years since it all happened!

Under the string

 Kia ora bloggers, on Wednesday the 14th of April we experienced ANZAC. How we experienced ANZAC was the teachers were setting up strings everywhere around the classroom but we didn't know about the strings at first though. Once the bell rang the teachers let us in the classroom. When we got inside the class there was heaps of string in there. When we got inside the teachers explained what we are doing when we are inside. we had to get our art book and pencils,pens and a ruler. When we got inside the trench it was cool. We had to go in my class and get our boxes for our tasks. It was cool how all of the teachers in Te Waka Ako had face paint there were only three colors on them. But when I got to my box I did not have my stationery it was in my bag so i had to use someone else pen and pencil.

 I asked a friend because I know he would let me use it until playtime because  I can use that time to get what i need in my bag. our task that we did first was a math's test. But it was going to be hard because there was going to be a loud noise like guns shooting and booms just like in the war. But some people were screaming out loud. But i hoped that i was going to beat my high score that i got from last time. Later when it was time to pack up i could not get up because if we get up we get shot by the teachers. 

Later when i finished packing up the bell rang for morning tea. so i was going to get my stuff that i said earlier but i think i should get it at the end of morning tea because if I get it at the start of morning tea i will have to hold it and i might leave it somewhere and then i can not find it. Later when morning tea finished we went swimming cause it is free swim.My friend Zara came with me. After swimming we went back into class and did the picture dictation for ANZAC. the ones that do not know what picture dictation is, it is like a teacher reading  a sentence and you have to draw the picture that matches the sentence. After all of that it was lunch play. Later when finished we garbed our lunch and go in class then sit down where you were sitting before i was sitting with friend Zara. 

After lunch we had to go find a table and find a ice block stick and then we  winded it but there were two buddy to tell you where to go and one of the buddy will be blind fold. Then when it was all widened up we went back home the END.

 

safety at Cameron pools

Hello bloggers so on Thursday the 27th of may we went to Cameron pools and we were practicing on floating. So what we did first was eat because we had no time to eat, well we still had time to eat because the other class were going first so we got time to eat. After eating the bell rang and then every one put there lunch away, and we still have 5 minutes before we go on the bus. Also this time we were allowed to change.

 But there was also a changing room there but the whole class wanted to go change at school because it was way more easier than going to change at Cameron pools. After changing we had 4 more minutes before we go. We used all that time to play octopus, Later Ms Sands called us that it was time to go on the bus. Also when we were on the bus it was so cool because the seats were joined together. 

When we got there i was the first one to get out because i got changed in the girls toilet at school. But we had to go in the Nan's  pool again to do some floating. When we were in the an's pool we saw Britney for the ones that do not know Britney she is our she is our teacher for Cameron pools. 

so while we were waiting for the other class to come out the pool we splashed each other with water. After that our teacher Britney so we hoped in the pool and started to swim until Britney our teacher was ready. So when she was ready we started with each person in our group has two bottles and we had to choose which side is better to survive in, it is either your front, or back, i would choose to go on my back because if you go on your front you won't be able to breath but if you go onto your back you WILL be able to breath so yep that's what every one choose.

Waikowhai primary student led tool-kits

last Friday, we were doing tool-kits, for the ones that do not know what tool-kit is, it is where you make some cool presentations about what you are doing for your awesome  presentation 

First i was going to google animation cause that is what it said where to go first. When i got there, Jeremiah and Branden were presenting there google animation slide that they did. Also they were showing us how to make things move, then they showed us what they did with animation. After talking they started the timer (it was 15 minutes), then we started. and i started of with the google slide, then i searched up a car also i made my own like car. 

they said try and look for the three dots and press on it, then you will see the word animation also you can press fly so your car can fly. After when we all finished and the 15 minuet rang on the tv   and we all had to share what we did with google slide animation, after when we all shared our cool animations we went on to the next presenter, i was going to google maps with all the other kids.

So the first thing we did was sit on  the mat  in the class room or up on a chair, then Mahdi and Daniel explains how to use google maps. Later when they finished explaining to us, we all went and searched up google maps. what i searched up first was disappointment island, but do you wanna know why, it's because i heard someone say theirs an island called disappointment island, and i thought there were going to be unhappy people.

what i am trying to improve in my learning

 Hello bloggers, So on Friday it was the last day of school. Also we had our reports given out at the end of the day, then i went home with me little sister, but we did not show our Mum and Dad, cause we forgot to. Then it was the next day, and so it was night. I remembered we had to show my mum and dad my report and my little sisters report, But guess what had a bad report and my sister got a good report. I wanted to do better, in my math, so i started to do some home learning.

So i made a good choice, to not talk to me friends also, listening, and independent, to improve, but sometimes i need a buddy to work with when i am really stuck. 

how i am doing in holiday's!

 Hello bloggers, are you having a great holiday? Oh tell me about it! today i am going to see my cousins dance on the stage, they are doing a Samoan Siva dance for their culture, i am so excited to see what they are doing for their dance today! i am also this weekend i am going to dance in front of my family, and all of my cousin's, it's kinda like a Samoan thing we do all the time.

Swimming animation slide

Kio ora bloggers, Today we have been working on google animation slides. I had a buddy to work with and her name was Anna, The topic we did for our animation slides were swimming because that was the only thing me and her thinked of. When we first started we made one slide that says Anna's and Koleka's google animation( swimming). Then we made another slide but it had a background about swimming. But me and Anna didn't make another slide we duplicate slide so we don't have to make all that again.

(I am not going to tell you all about it or you will know what it looks like). lydia ko

Kia ora bloggers, so today I am going to teach you something about Lyida Ko, for the ones who don't know Lyida Ko, she is a famous golfer do you wanna know why? It is because she got so many hole in ones, she also started to play golf at the age of 12 so she is known as the youngest ever to play professional golf! 

So we did some work about her, it was questions about Lydia Ko and we answer it . Oh and if you don't know what whole in one means, it means that she got the ball in the hole in one try! Here is a screenshot of the work we did:

Lydia-Ko was born in Seoul in South  Korean. The people she admires that are golfers as Michelle Wie, Rory Mcilroy, Lexi Thompson and Phill Mickelson. Lyida-Ko was now coached by american based coach Sean Hogan.

Year five day!

Hello bloggers, On the 17th of may, we had our teacher Miss McGrath. She was in today because our teacher went with the Year 6's to a trip named Spark Arena. But they were getting ready first, and called out the names of people just to check that all the year six's are there on the bus. So we where talking about well being, and Miss McGrath said that we are probably not allowed hoop earrings because something might get through the hoops and might pull it down and rip our ear so thats why we would not wear hoop earrings. Also we talked about kindness, and pink shirt day too. 

Later when we finished talking about that, we were walking around the room and had music on and if the music stopped then the person closest to you (and it doesn't have to be your friends) you tell them what you were grateful for this morning, But I said that I was great full for my sister' because she made my lunch today. Then Miss McGrath decided that we would make a fortune teller.

 So then we started straight away, I will tell you how to make it. I will do it step by step. so first we got a squared piece of paper, Then we folded it diagonally, Secondly we folded it diagonally again on the same side but the other way then you unfold  it, Then it looks like a x. so then you fold it in half like down in the middle then across the middle. 

After that we fold the edges that are like triangles, Later when you finished that you flip the paper onto the other side then do the same thing that you did to the other side. Then after that flip the paper back to the other side then fold it in half then you put your index fingers into the paper then your thumbs into the other square then you'v made your self a fortune teller. What i learnt so far today was that fortune tellers are not for mean messages it is for positive messages. Bye bloggers 

Not my Friday

 Hello bloggers

In Lock down, I was getting ready for the meeting that we did to know that we are on task. But I didn't go because I had to go to my cousin house .Why I had to go was because my mum had to go to work and my dad had to go to work too. Both of them had to go work in the morning so early' so that's why I have to go to my cousin house. But on the way we went to McDonald's and after ordering  it we went to find a car park and then we started eating it. Sometime later when we were still eating the food that we bought then SUDDENLY my mum's phone ranged  AND my dad's phone.I told my mum to read it ! It said that there was a tsunami'  My sister freaked out and I was like 'calm down it is OK we are not near water so we are safe' So she calmed down(after eating the food that we bought). Then mum and dad started the car and then we went to my cousin house and they were watching the news and what we saw on the news was people go to higher ground and people with there back packs,water bottles, just a little bit of food, and a first aid kit.What I know about the news was that they had to stay there until it is the evening. If were close to water I would pack a first aid kit and pack food,water, blanket, and a fly spray just in case.
